The Azerbaijani Radio Liberty published an article about the scandal between Leyla Arif and Gultekin Hajibeyli. This article is reminiscent of Soviet media propaganda. Only the position of Gultekin Hajibeyli is included in the article. Hajibayli gave false information about the law. Radio Liberty also did not cover the position of a single lawyer.

Gultekin Hajibeyli is a far-right politician oriented towards Turkey. In 2009, when she represented the government of Azerbaijan, she supported the repressions against Azerbaijani political prisoners. After shifting to the opposition position, she makes provocative statements aimed at inciting conflict between the Azerbaijani and Talysh population of Azerbaijan.

She also frequently expresses her support for the Erdogan regime.
